Estimate tree and foliage coverage on a lot automatically from satellite imagery — no manual tracing.

How it works

Open the Tools menu

With a parcel selected, choose Detect Trees from the Tools menu.

SiteFacts captures the parcel

A satellite image of the lot is captured for analysis.

An AI vision model reads it

The image is sent to Gemini 2.5 Flash (via OpenRouter), which returns detected trees with a normalized position, an estimated canopy radius in feet, and an optional species label.

Results render on the map

Each detected tree is drawn as a circle sized to its canopy so you can gauge clearing effort and coverage at a glance.

AI Tree Detection requires a Google Maps Static API key on the workspace for satellite capture, and is a paid-tier feature. If imagery is unavailable, detection is disabled for that parcel and returns an empty result rather than failing.

Each result is a circle positioned over a detected tree and sized to its estimated canopy radius.

Treat it as an estimate

Detection is a planning aid, not a survey. Always verify on the ground before making clearing or permitting decisions.

Attach to a report

Detection results can be included with the data you send when ordering a report.
